The statement says that Azerbaijan’s ombudsman is concerned about the violation of human rights, right to live and right to peace resulting in death of civilians, including children, women, the old and disabled people.
“The situation in the region has become a humanitarian disaster. We call on the world community and international organizations to react to the happenings, take urgent measures in line with the resolution of the UN Security Council, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to cease military operations and start peace talks,†the statement says.
Ombudsman notes the necessity of showing solidarity to support national human rights institutions of Palestine and prevent violation of human rights.
The statement addresses the UN Secretary General, Security Council, High Commissioner for Human Rights, Council of Europe and other international organizations.
