Azerbaijani government and European Court communicate on 44 cases

Baku – APA. Azerbaijani government and the European Court of Human Rights are communicating on 44 cases, information service of Legal Education Society told APA. The communicated cases concern the violation of various articles of Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. Mostly-violated articles are: Article 3 (prohibition of torture), 6 (right to a fair hearing), 10 (freedom of expression), 11 (freedom of assembly and association), 13 (effective remedy), 14 (prohibition of discrimination) and Article 1 of Protocol No. 1 (protection of property). The communication also covers 16 complaints about the violation of Article 3 of Protocol No. 1 (the right to regular, free and fair elections) in the parliamentary elections in 2005.
The complaints of two Armenian citizens (Arakelyan and Sargsyan) are also being communicated.
