Baku. Ramil Mammadli–APA. Chairman of Azerbaijan Anti-Torture Committee Elchin Behbudov visited the Interior Ministry’s administrative detention facility on Tuesday. Behbudov told APA he met with 22 believers detained during the protest action before the Israeli Embassy on January 2. He said 20 of them were Hajj pilgrims. Behbudov said the believers did not consider themselves guilty and demanded to release them. The human right defender said they were detained for 10-15 days according to the court resolution and needed in the court decision to be released. “Tomorrow the committee will appeal Chairman of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev on this issueâ€.
22 believers detained at the Interior Ministry’s administrative detention facility were arrested for attempt to hold unauthorized protest action before the Israel’s Embassy in Azerbaijan against the Israeli military operations in Gaza Strip.
