58 air bombs found in territory of Azerbaijan’s Sumgayit City

Senior adviser of ANAMA Adil Aslanov told APA that the operations began on December 22.“The Soviet army threw the military supplies while leaving Azerbaijan. As time passed they were covered. This territory has been allotted for the construction of Cardboard Factory. Workers found two air bombs while getting ready for the construction. Sumgayit police office informed us about it. ANAMA’s special group reviewed the site. When we began the operations, we saw that the supplies had been buried 1.5m deep,” he said.

Aslanov said 5 air bombs FAB 50 had been found. Destructive radius of 50kg bombs is 500 meters. 122mm cannon, 125mm tank shell, 1 rocket, totally 70 supplies were found in the territory. Operations continue. It is planned to finish the operations by the weekend. Clearing operations will totally cover 25,000 sq m area. Aslanov supposes that there are no military supplies left in the territory.

Adil Aslanov said according to the witnesses there are military supplies in the neighboring territory.
“There is a cooperative society nearby. We see signs of those supplies there, too. It is planned to clear other areas, as well,” he said.
