Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Emergencies: We used helicopters to douse hypermarket fire for the first time

Strong fire broke out in a Wholesale Section of Sederek Hypermarket near Baku at about 11.00 am.
"The fire covered about 1 200 to 1 400 sq. m area. Fire engines and brigades have been involved in extinguishing the fire here. For the first time in our practice , we have used two firefighting helicopters here. The fire will be put out in a short space of time. Closeness of facilities made it difficult to put out the fire. Three firemen got poisoned," he added.
According to him, the cause of the fire is not known yet.
The blaze has already turned about 40 shops in the first row into a charred mess. The fire has not been extinguished yet.
