Georgian President pardons imprisoned Azerbaijanis along with others

Georgia. Nizami Mammadzadeh-APA. There are imprisoned Azerbaijanis among prisoners, whom Georgian President pardoned. Salome Makharadze, Spokesman for Georgian Justice Ministry’s Penitentiary Department told APA Georgian bureau that the amnesty was applicable for 1281 prisoners. 42 of them were women, 13 were teenagers. Makharadze declined to publicize names of Azerbaijani prisoners. Georgian Prime Minister’s Service for Integration Issues told APA’s correspondent that there were seven Azerbaijanis among the pardoned prisoners. 300 more prisoners expected to be pardon late in 2008.
