Persons engaged in smuggling narcotics en route Iran-Azerbaijan rendered harmless

About 90kg narcotics was taken from them, National Security Ministry’s public affairs center told APA. Iranians Gholizadeh Ilekhcisofa, Ahmad Abolghasem, Azerbaijanis – Rahib Zeynalov, Ilham Mirzayev, Agashukur Ibishov, Nadir Chiggarov and others smuggled a great deal of narcotics – 82.500kg hashish, 5kg heroin and 2kg opium from Iran to Gulmemmedli village of Azerbaijan’s Jalilabad region, then brought the narcotics to Agalikend village of Bilasuvar region and hid there. The members of the criminal gang were detained as a result of the operations carried out by National Security Ministry, about 90kg narcotics was taken from them.
Investigation Department of National Security Ministry launched criminal case on the fact on article 206.3.2 (smuggling on preliminary arrangement by group of persons), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code. The above-mentioned men were held accountable and arrested.
