Yalchin Hasanov accused in â€œecstasy caseâ€ goes on six-day hunger strike

He demanded release of Orkhan Nadirov, son of Peopleâ€™s Artist Ilhama Guliyeva, reexamination of medicines, punishment of Kanan Aliyev, an inspector of National Security Ministry, reconsideration of the case by General Prosecutorâ€™s Office. Hasanov said that he would go on hunger strike if his demands were not implemented.
Trial on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, son of Peopleâ€™s Artist Ilhama Guliyeva, Mahir Mirsalamov and Yalchin Hasanov, sons of former Baku and Azizbayov prosecutors Adalat Mirsalamov and Rashid Hasanov and 11 others continues.
The defendants are accused of illicit drug turnover and use of drugs. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They have been arrested by the National Security Ministry in May this year.
