Baku. Victoria Dementyeva –APA. European Court of Human Rights passed decision to pay 14090 euros of compensation to Alikram Humbatov investigating his appeal, APA reports quoting the court’s web-site. The court decided that articles of the Human Rights Convention about the right of fair judgment and right of receiving medical aid in time were violated. It was said in the report that while being in custody Humbatov suffered from tuberculosis. He asked relevant organizations, but didn’t receive treatment in time and his health was damaged. ECHR also decided that judgment was unfair in the case of Alikram Humbatov.
Humbatov was sentenced to death penalty for treason. The verdict was replaced by the sentence to life prison because death penalty was eliminated in Azerbaijan. Then Alikram Humbatov was pardoned and allowed to leave the country. He is living now in Hague.
