Son of peopleâ€™s artist Ilhama Guliyeva gives testimony in court

APA reports that judge Azer Orujov presided over the process.
Defendants Orkhan Nadirov and Gulami Zubeyda gave testimonies. Nadirov did not admit his guilt. He said he had been on friendly terms with Yalchin Hasanov for a long time and during that period they had talked about ecstasy.
â€œI left for Turkey at request of Yalchin last year. Yalchin said his documents were in Turkey and asked me to bring them. I went to Istanbul and a Turkish citizen gave me Yalchinâ€™s bag there. He also gave a box of â€œMegapesâ€ vitamins to me and asked to deliver them to Yalchin,â€ he said.
Orkhan Nadirov underlined that he had brought the vitamins to Baku by permission and said he had given testimony in the National Security Ministry without his lawyer, so his testimony shown in the indictment was not true. The defendant said his testimony was recorded during the investigation, but the statements written in the indictment were not reflected there. The defendantsâ€™ lawyers asked the judge to demonstrate the video in the hearing. The judge said the video would be demonstrated in one of the next hearings.
Following this, Zubeyda Gulami gave testimony. She did not admit her guilt either. Gulami said she knew Ruslan Rustamov and Hasan Hasanov, but did not know the others at all. Zubeyda Gulami also noted that she had no links to ecstasy case.
The hearing will continue in the second half of the day.
The defendants are accused of illicit drug turnover and use of drugs. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They were arrested by the National Security Ministry in May this year.
