Interior Ministry and Republican Prosecutorâ€™s Office releases report on explosion in Lokbatan hospital

The investigators clarified that on November 25 surgeon Ravayat Mutallimov found unknown thing near his clothes in his box when he left the night shift. â€œThe experts found out that it was a hand grenade and it detonated when the surgeon was going to view it. Surgeon Ravayat Mutallimov and nurse Reyhan Pirguliyeva were seriously injured in the aftermath of explosion.

Former member of special police group Sabir Husseinov, arrested during operations. Brought the grenade to hospital and put it into the box attempting the doctorâ€™s life. Huseynov was arrested in 1996 for his participation at the 1995 coup dâ€™etat attempt and was charged with brigandage and storage of illegal weapons. Later he was described by the human rights defenders as a political prisoner and was pardoned in 1999â€.

The investigation is going on.
