Defendant: â€œIlhama Guliyevaâ€™s son was a worker in Yalchin Hasanovâ€™s officeâ€

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. Court of Grave Crimes continued the hearing on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, son of Peopleâ€™s Artist Ilhama Guliyeva, Mahir Mirsalamov and Yalchin Hasanov, sons of former Baku and Azizbayov prosecutors Adalat Mirsalamov and Rashid Hasanov and 11 others. APA reports that the hearing was presided by Judge Azer Orujov. The defendants gave testimonies in the hearing. Ruslan Rustamov did not admit his guilt. He said he mediated in â€œecstasy caseâ€ without knowing about it. Rustamov said he had given 50 drugs taken from Mahir Mirsalamov to a man called Javid and added that he had been detained by the officers of the National Security Ministry when he was going to give 100 drugs to Javid. The other defendant â€“ Yalchin Hasanovâ€™s driver Hasan Hasanov partially admitted his guilt. Hasanov said he had given testimony in the National Security Ministry under pressure. He also noted that after crossing Georgia-Azerbaijan border he gave 375 drugs out of 1000 he had taken from Georgian citizen to Yalchin Hasanov and the rest to Mahir Mirsalamov. Mirsalamov said Hasan Hasanov had not given any drugs to him. Hasan Hasanov said he repented.

Hasan Hasanov told the judge that Orkhan Nadirov had been worker in Yalchin Hasanovâ€™s office, he repaired the office.

The hearing will continue in the second half of the day.

The defendants are accused of illicit drug turnover and use of drugs. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They were arrested by the National Security Ministry in May this year.
