He said that 74 of those facts were completely related to human trafficking. 85 men were held accountable in connection with 74 crimes. 77 people were determined as the victims of human trafficking. The department chief said the number of the recorded crimes related to human trafficking increased in Azerbaijan compared with the previous years. It was the result of the effective struggle against crimes.
Javad Shikhaliyev said that victims of human trafficking were mainly taken from Azerbaijan to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Iran and India. He also said that no victims of human trafficking had been brought to Azerbaijan from foreign countries that year. Victims of human trafficking had been brought to Azerbaijan from Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan in the previous years.
