Smuggling amount of heroin from Iran to Azerbaijan prevented

State Customs Committeeâ€™s Press Service told APA car marked Iveco with number THR-695123 owned by Iranian citizen Ramin Jabbarnejad Mikail was searched by officials of Astara Customs Department. During operation 9kg 975gm heroin was confiscated from the car. SCC Investigation Department has launched an investigation under Articles 206.2 (smuggling) and 234.4.3(illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code. Jabbarnejad was detained. He faced charges under Articles 206.3.2 (smuggling on preliminary arrangement by group of persons), 234.4.1 (illegal purchase or storage without a purpose of selling of narcotics or psychotropic substances in a quantity (amount) exceeding necessary for personal consumption) and 234.4.3(manufacturing, purchase, storage, transfer, transportation or selling drug with a view of illegal manufacturing and processing of narcotics or psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code. The case is under investigation.
