Court rejects petitions of lawyers of Ilhama Guliyevaâ€™s son Orkhan Nadirov and others

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov â€“ APA. The hearing on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, son of peopleâ€™s artist Ilhama Guliyeva, Mahir Mirsalamov and Yalchin Hasanov, sons of former Baku and Azizbayov prosecutors Adalat Mirsalamov and Rashid Hasanov and 11 others continued in the second half of the day. APA reports that the hearing was presided by judge Azer Orujov in the Court of Grave Crimes. The court rejected the petitions of the defendantsâ€™ lawyers. The next hearing has been fixed for November 14.
In the morning hearing Orkhan Nadirovâ€™s lawyer Seyfaddin Aliyev said there were contradictions in the recorded and oral testimonies given by his client. The other defendant Kamala Eyvazovaâ€™s lawyer petitioned to end the criminal case taking into consideration that she had four children and was ill. Yalchin Hasanovâ€™s lawyer Asgar Heydarov said the drug test judgment of his client was not correct.
The defendants are accused of illicit drug turnover and use of drugs. According to the indictment, they faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code. They were arrested by the National Security Ministry in May this year.
