Vilayat Eyvazov: “US State Department report on human trafficking in Azerbaijan does not reflect reality”

The Deputy Minister said the report was prepared on the basis of reports by the unprofessional Human Right defenders and NGOs. Eyvazov said new rehabilitation centers would be opened in Azerbaijan for the human trafficking victims. He said this year 41 human trafficking victims received compensations. The Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan was used in the human trafficking as a country of source, destination and transit. According to him, the victims of human trafficking were taken away from Azerbaijan particularly to the United Arab Emirates and Turkey and from the countries like Central Asia, Russia and Moldova to Azerbaijan. Eyvazov said more than 90 per cent of this crime was committed by the women.
