Ramil Usubov meets Anne Derse

Baku-APA. Interior Minister, Colonel-General Ramil Usubov has met with US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse, Interior Ministryâ€™s Press Service told APA.
Usubov provided information about measures taken on preparation for presidential elections on October 15. It was stated in the meeting that OSCE Office in Baku along with International Human Rights Community Azerbaijan National Department had taken several measures on increase of awareness of policemen on freedom of assembly in several regions. Seminars and trainings on freedom of assembly, rights and duties of policeman, prevention of illegal protest actions, actions of the police during protest actions, special means used during prevention of protest actions have been held in police departments in Baku, Ganja, Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Lankaran and Gazakh with the participation of police officials and representatives of media and local executive powers. About 500 police officials and 1500 servicemen of Interior troops participated in trainings financed by OSCE, USA, France, Turkey, Germany and Hungary. The Minister added that 4 million 849 citizens having voting rights had been provided with passports. Anne Derse stated that she would make efforts to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan, as well as the US Embassy and Interior Ministry.
