Interior Ministry and Prosecutor Generalâ€™s Office make statement on Farhad and Azad Guliyevs rendered harmless

Interior Ministryâ€™s press service told APA that on October 1, 2008 resident of Mashtaga settlement MIrkarim Khalilov appealed to Sabunchu District Police Office and said that on September 29 his fellow countryman, ex-prisoner Farhad Guliyev threatened him and seized his Nissan Murano. The District Police Office carried out special operation to detain Farhad Guliyev, who had been wanted under Articles 120 (premeditated murder) and 228 (illegal carrying of firearms) of the Criminal Code.
It was found out that Farhad Guliyev was driving Nissan Murano in Ramana settlement. The police demanded him to surrender. Farhad Guliyev and his close relative, who was in the car, Azad Guliyev refused to obey and showed armed resistance to the policemen. Farhad and Azad Guliyevs were rendered harmless.
One Makarov pistol, its bullets, F-1 grenade, dagger, 16 patrons and narcotic drug were found during the inspection of the site.
It was reported out that Farhad Guliyev had been sentenced for 13 years of imprisonment by the verdict of the Court of Grave Crimes under articles 120.1 (premeditated murder) and 228.1 (illegal carrying of firearms) of the Criminal Code. He shot dead his villager Hidayat Huseynov on September 1 and avoided the investigation. TT pistol used by Guliyev in this crime was found on the same day near one of his relatives and on September 4 the police found Mauzer pistol in Lincoln in his yard.
Sabunchu District Prosecutorâ€™s Office launched a criminal case under article 315.2 and 228.2.2 for application of violence, resistance with application of violence concerning the representative of authority in connection with performance of official duties by him or application of the violence not dangerous to life or health concerning his close relatives, as well as threat of application of such violence and illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives.
