Protest action held in front of Russian embassy to Azerbaijan

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“APA. Members of Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) have held a protest action in front of Russian embassy in Baku. The protesters have condemned Russiaâ€™s recognition of Georgian regions Abkhazia and South Ossetia and demanded Russian troops to withdraw from Georgia chanting â€œRussia stop occupationâ€ and other slogans, APA reports. The picketers have submitted statement to the embassy.

Russian actions in the Caucasus have been called as an occupation in the statement. â€œRussia must be punished with political and economic sanctions for its actions. This invader-country can not be allowed to attend international organizations. Existent developments are serious signal for Azerbaijan too. We demand Russia to withdraw its troops from Georgia and the South Caucasus, not to support invader Armenia and to respect territorial integrity of the countriesâ€, the statement said.

No incident happened during the actions.
