Human Rights defenders visit jails #12, 13 and 14

Baku. Mahbuba Gasimbayli â€“ APA. Members of the Monitoring Group of Human Rights Organizations â€“ Seadet Benenyarli, Chingiz Ganizadeh and Novella Jafaroglu have today visited jails #12, 13 and 14. Seadet Benenyarli told APA that they had met with journalist Eynulla Fatullayev and ex-health minister Ali Insanovâ€™s nephew Anar Namazov in jail #12. The human rights defender said the prisoners did not complain of their detention conditions. Benenyarli said they had met with ex-health minister Ali Insanov in jail #13. He complained of his detention conditions, as he was held in 120-man cell. Human right activists also met with correspondent of Azadlig newspaper Mirza Sakit in jail #14. Benenyarli said they had investigated Mirza Sakitâ€™s report about attempt on his life. The member of the group said the prisonerâ€™s transfer was being considered, he would be possibly transferred to the jail nearer his familyâ€™s house.
