A landslide wakes-up in Gullutepe Village of Masalli Region

He said landslide area covered three hectares of territory and it expected to be extended because of hot weather and drought. Abiyev said the landslide deepened surface cracks and it could create dangerous situation during rainy autumn months. Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources visited the area several days ago and conducted three-day monitoring there. They concluded that the landslide is continuing. The first landslide in Gullutepe Village happened on March 5 and became more active later. Experts said climate change, plant destruction and sedentary soil caused the landslide. 11 families were evacuated from landslide area. One hectare land piece was allocated for housing of these families. Project and cost sheet of these houses, which will be constructed by the governmental means, were already estimated and tendered already. Winner of tender will be announced in a few days and it will begin construction of houses.
