Today 10 years have passed since the establishing of Azerbaijanâ€™s Constitutional Court

This organization established on July 14, 1998 is the countryâ€™s first Constitutional judicial review body. The nine-member Constitutional Court founded its activity on the basis of the principles of supremacy of the Constitution, justice, collegiality and transparency. Empowerment and status of the Constitutional Court, which is functioning mutually with the legislative and executive powers, were determined within the Fundamental Law and a law on the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Republic. Today two thirds of the Constitutional Court members complete their authority and they will work until the appointment of the new judges.
