The Prime Minister was taken to hospital and stitches were put in his head. The Prime Ministerâ€™s meeting with President Valdis Zatlers and participation in the meeting of the Security Council was postponed in connection with the accident. Spokesman for Prime Minister Edgars Vaykulis said that Ivars Godmanis was diagnosed with a concussion and a skull fracture in the temple area. Doctors said the minister would have to remain in hospital for at least a week. The causes of the accident are not known yet. The spokesman said the causes of the accident would be known after the investigation of the police.
