Hail and flood hit agriculture in Azerbaijanâ€™s rural regions

APA Bureau reports that work is under way to eliminate the results of the damage and electricity supply was restored.
Floods destroyed 2 000 hectares of hayland and 800 hectares of potato fields in Beyuk Gishlag, Chatag, Garadash, Cheshmeli, Hasanli and Ahmedabad villages of Tovuz.
50% of potato fields are believed to be destroyed.
Niftali Gasimov, chief of the emergency situations commission in the region, said flood destroyed 4 bridges and killed about 20 head of cattle and 100 head of small livestock.
Gudrat Pashayev, Deputy Chairman of Gedebeyâ€™s Executive Power Office, said 15 000 roof covers were damaged and half of potato fields were destroyed.
He said government assistance is needed for mitigation of the disaster.
