Polish First Lady attends inauguration of memorial plague of architect Józef Gosławski

Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. Polish President’s spouse Maria Kaczynski has attended an inauguration of memorial plague of Polish architect Jozef Goslawski in Baku today, APA reports.
She spoke about the role of Goslawski in the establishment of Baku ad noted that Goslawski was author of several buildings in Baku at the end of 19th century. She expressed her gratitude to the country’s leader for protection of these buildings by the Government. Jafar Giyasi, Director of “Azerberpa” - Scientific Research Institute for the Restoration of Architectural Monuments spoke about the development of Baku, which have beautiful architecture. He stressed the role of foreign architects, as well as the role of Goslawski, who lived in Baku for 12 years and was author of 12 buildings. He noted that Goslawski used Islamic architectural tradition very skillfully. Irina Trafimova, Goslawski’s sister’s great-granddaughter lives in the flat, where Polish architect lived. Giyasi showed the flat to guests.
