Human remains found in Gakh Region of Azerbaijan <font color=red>â€“PHOTOSESSION </font>

Workers, who found human skulls and bones, said they have stooped drilling work and immediately informed Gakh Regional Executive Authority and corresponding organizations. Local residents said area of drilling work was the territory of ancient Albanian church protected as a historical monument. Despite that local authorities and municipalities dealt these lands to the residents. The residents claim they have legal documents for these territories. Some of the land owners have already built houses in the area despite that Azerbaijani legislation banned construction works and excavations in the area of historical monuments. Unit Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Vilayat Karimov has visited the area on Wednesday and looked at the remains. He urged the workers to stop drilling and to begin researches. Karimov told APA local bureau there was ancient cemetery there. He said they would be able to give detailed information later.
No researches are started yet and there is not even â€œno entryâ€ sign in the area. Everyone can enter into area without barriers. This carelessness can be resulted with the loss of the remains.
