Explosion occurs in Lankaran Region of Azerbaijan

The explosion shock wave was even felt 5 kilometers away from the place of accident. Multi-storied buildings quaked as a result of the explosion.
APAâ€™s southern bureau reports that the residents were unaware of the happenings after the quakes. It became clear five minutes after the incident that it was not an earthquake, but the explosion. Officers of law enforcement bodies and firefighters of the region arrived at the place of incident.
According to local residents, nearly 30 houses have seriously been damaged as a result of the explosion shock wave. 83-year-old Nasiba Jafarova was slightly injured and received first aid in Lankaran Central Hospital. To the official bodies, the explosion occurred in the house belonging to Rzayev Samir Vagif in Muslum Magomayev Street of Lankaran Region. According to initial speculations the cause for explosion was gas leak. The cause is being investigated.
