But the police did not allow them holding the rally today, as Kurds have held several mass protest actions recently. Newly-established Committee for Assistance to Orkhan’s Family has got permission to rally in Strasbourg tomorrow. The rally will be held tomorrow at 17.00 in one of the central squares of Strasbourg Place de l’Etoile.
Strasbourg Main Police Office told APA’s local bureau that criminal case had already been sent to Strasbourg Prosecutor’s Office. Deputy prosecutor of Strasbourg Ms. Brinol said the case has been submitted to the state judge. Ms. Brinol added that the trial will be open and will start in about one or two years, as it was a murder.
“Preparations for the process continues. The sides collect all important elements for the court to pass fair decision,” she said.
18-year-old Orkhan Agayev was knifed in the throat by unknown men because of disagreement in the tram. The incident is supposed to happen because of the mobile phone.
The person, who killed Orkhan Agayev, surrendered to the police. His name is not released. He is said to be 29-year-old local resident. The man, who has previous convictions, reportedly had problems with the police.
Orkhan Agayev’s father Aliheydar Agayev is the owner of “Baki geceleri” restaurant in Strasbourg.
