The organization found out that the influence of non-traditional religions on children increased, as a result of the activity of radical religious missionaries in the country.
“The forces propagating radical Wahhabism increase the number of children, who join the radical wing of this religious trend. Religious missionaries, who manage to involve schoolchildren in this trend, use them for propagating ideas of radical Wahhabism,” he said.
The investigations carried out by Young Leaders Children’s Organization established that the mosques and madrasahs (religious schools) propagating non-traditional religions are mainly situated in Nasimi and Yasamal districts of Baku.
Farid Shahbazli said that children are paid and presented computers for converting to a religion,” he said.
“We found out during the monitoring that there are special religious missionaries propagating Iran’s ideas in a number of mosques and madrasahs. These men only involve children and youth. The number of such children increases, they claim “Our motherland is Iran” and little girls wear Persians’ clothes. The children are promised free education in Gum, in return of propagating ideas of Iran,” he said.
Press service officer of State Committee on Religious Affairs Yagut Aliyeva told APA that the fact is being investigated. She said in case the fact is proved, the state committee will take necessary measures. /APA/
