One of the residents Mahammad Eyvazov underlined that Baku Mayor’s office granted permission to the construction of the building. He added that documents of the apartments had been distributed to them some days before the building collapsed: “Now Baku mayor Hajibala Abutalibov regards the high-rise building as illegal construction. But he issued an order, if there was no order around, construction could not be carried out either. Bodies investigation the case must have information on this fact. If it was an illegal construction why we had been distributed the orders one day before the collapse. Officer for Housing Akif Maharramov’s arrest is linked to this fact.
Another resident Shahla Yusifova said that more than 107 apartments have been sold: “There are some people from power among the owners of the apartments. They refused from their apartments because of their names.
The residents claim their money back saying that documents prove their ownership over the apartments. They appealed to the President Ilham Aliyev to help them with this case.
High-rise building constructed by Mutafakkir Construction Company collapsed on August 28 in Murtuza Mukhtarov Street, Baku. 25 died and 4 injured. The criminal case has been launched on the fact./APA/
