Baku. Anakhanim Hidayatova-APA. Today, Croatia Statehood Day and Accession of Croatia to the European Union was celebrated in Baku. Speaker of Croatian Parliament Josip Leko and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ogtay Asadov have also attended the ceremony in Baku, APA reports.
Speaking at the ceremony, Josip Leko noted that marking such an event in Azerbaijan is a sign of high level of bilateral relations and expressed his gratitude to the Republic of Azerbaijan: “Celebration of these holidays in Azerbaijan is an historical event. Croatia will increase level of the relations higher by sending its new diplomats to Azerbaijan.”
He noted that there are similar peculiarities for both countries. “Both countries are members of post-unions and later got their independences, both countries are living an invasion factor. I wish, Azerbaijan to reinvigorate its territorial integrity because its territorial integrity has been violated.
Croatian Speaker also noted that Azerbaijan and Croatia achieved relations of strong friendship within past 20 years and this is progressive case: “Both countries support each other within international organizations.
Azerbaijani Speaker Ogtay Asadov in his turn expressed President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulations to the guest.
