Baku-APA.“Azerbaijan has sent an invitation letter to European Parliament to send observation mission in order to observe the presidential elections in Azerbaijan to be held in October”, said Elkhan Suleymanov, Member of Parliament and Vice-President of Azerbaijani Delegation to the Euronest PA in his interview to APA.

He noted that on July 4, the Conference of the Presidents of the European Parliament, the Democracy Support and Election Coordination Group have discussed elections to be held in the second half of 2013 and decided to send observation missions to the elections in a number of countries. “4 countries have been chosen from the list submitted by the Conference of Presidents and it was decided to send official elections observation mission to these countries. According to the decision, it is not considered to send official elections observation mission of the European Parliament to the presidential elections in Azerbaijan in October.  ”

MP also noted that European Parliament will send the official elections observation mission only to Georgia, Tajikistan, Nepal and Honduras: “The decision on sending the elections observation missions exactly to these countries are grounded on the probability that serious problems can occur in these countries and importance of composing a report by the European Parliament on these countries.
