Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov of Azerbaijan met with Prime Minister Miloš Vučević of Serbia during his working visit to Belgrade, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry told APA.

During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Serbia, as well as regional and international security issues.

Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the importance of high-level visits and contacts in developing the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia, highlighting the necessity of maintaining the current momentum in this area.

They described the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation as an important platform for expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The two sides hailed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector and discussed the prospects for future relations. The importance of cooperation in the production and export of alternative energy was emphasized. FM Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's potential in green energy production.

Additionally, they expressed mutual interest in implementing joint projects in the tourism sector, particularly in establishing direct air transport connections.

Detailed information was provided about the outcomes of the COP29 event held in Azerbaijan this year, with an emphasis on the importance of joint efforts in climate diplomacy. The sides expressed confidence that the Expo 2027 event would create additional opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

Bayramov also briefed Miloš Vučević on the current situation in the region during the post-conflict period, including large-scale reconstruction and restoration efforts in the liberated territories, efforts to combat the mine threat, and the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.

On the margins of his working visit, Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan had a meeting with Milos Vucevic, Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia to discuss prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, as well as regional and international security issues of mutual interest, Azerbaijani MFA said in a post on X platform, APA reports.

FM Bayramov also talked about post-conflict reconstruction and peace efforts in the region.
