Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Germany made $2.2 bln last year

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev has met with the delegation of German Bundestag.

According to Ministry, the delegation included Bundestag's Economic Affairs and Energy Committee Peter Ramsauer and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development Dagmar Wöhrl, as well as German ambassador to Azerbaijan Heidrun Tempel.

Mustafayev noted that Azerbaijan-Germany cooperation successfully develops and stressed importance of mutual visits for extension of relations. He said that the Azerbaijan-Germany working group on inter-parliamentary relations, as well as High Level Working Group on Trade and Investments contributed to the development of the relations: “For the present, 177 German companies are operating in Azerbaijan on different spheres. Azerbaijan closely cooperates with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), KfW bank, implements joint ventures. The trade turnover between these countries rose 25% to $2.2 bln in 2013. The growth was observed in 2014 too (15%)”.

Peter Ramsauer and Dagmar Wöhrl highly appreciated socio-economic development in Azerbaijan and shared their opinion for extension of economic cooperation.
