Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Chairman of State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev has today received the head of International monetary Fund’s mission on Azerbaijan Raja Almarzogi, Committee told APA-Economics.
According to Committee, Aliyev spoke about the current relations between IMF and SCC, perspective of the cooperation. He said that Azerbaijan’s customs system has changed to perfect structure meeting world standards. Stressing rapidly development of customs system, Chairman of the committee spoke about the role of customs agencies in strengthening of legislation base and ensuring economic security, especially measures taken for formation of budget incomes, strengthening of material and technical base, IT application.
SCC chairman also said that “single window” system has been applied, and time loss in officialization reduced to the minimum. According to him, customs payments are implemented via plastic cards, information kiosks have been established.
He also noted that having perfect legal base and developed infrastructure, Azerbaijan Customs Service conducts fiscal policy in the country, protects its economic interest and security on the land, air and sea ways.
Providing advantage to IMF’s cooperation with Azerbaijan, Almarzogi expressed his satisfaction with development tendency f the country, especially brought to attention that the Fund highly appreciates achievements in the customs system during recent years.
During the discussions of the issue related to restoration of old Silk Road, current situation of existing cooperation among these countries, Aydin Aliyev stated that Gabala will host International Forum on role of customs agencies in the support to trade and its facilitation among the Silk Road countries on November 14. The forum will focus on facilitation of customs-border procedures in Silk Road countries, transit systems, exchange of experience on customs-business cooperation and etc.
The sides also discussed latest tendencies in the customs receipts, applied privileges, relevant forecast indicators and calculations on 2014-2015, current situation in the Azerbaijan’s membership to World Trade Organization and some issues.
