One quarter of insurance premiums collected by Azerbaijani insurers falls to share of life insurance

Baku. Musa Ahmadov - APA-Economics. 25.2% or AZN 41.9 mln of insurance premiums collected by Azerbaijani insurers in January-April fell to share of life insurance, up 2.6% from previous year, Azerbaijan Insurers Association told APA-Economics.

About 51.3% or AZN 21.5 mln of life insurance premiums came from living insurance, 35.6% or AZN 14.9 mln from insurance against accidents at work, 12.8% or AZN 5.4 mln from death insurance, 0.3% or AZN 137,000 from insurance against incurable diseases. Insurance payments done for life insurance amounted to AZN 18 mln or 31% of total payments, up 7.8 times from 2014. About 90.3% or AZN 16.3 mln of payments went to living insurance, 5.2% or AZN 942,000 to death insurance, 4.5% or AZN 812,000 to insurance against accidents at work. No payment was done for insurance against incurable diseases. AZN 43.1 was paid for each AZN 100 insurance premium while it was AZN 5.9 in 2014.
