Ministry of Taxes: “Azerbaijan has removed double taxation with 20 EU countries”

Baku. Aqshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. “Azerbaijan’s recent agreements network on removal of double taxation has been significantly extended. 41 of 45 such agreements signed by our countries are valid”, Head of the Department of International Relations of the Ministry of Taxes Matin Karimli said in his interview to “Taxes” newspaper.

According to him, the agreements with other countries will come into force after completion of procedures: “Currently, the Ministry of Taxes carries out systematic work in this direction. Regarding EU countries, I can say that relevant agreements on removal of double taxation with 20 countries have been signed and come into force”.

Karimli noted that negotiations with Spain and Denmark have already been completed: “Discussions with Sweden, Portugal, Malta, Ireland and Slovakia are underway and these discussions will be completed soon”.

Department head said that Azerbaijan is extending cooperation with China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Japan internationally and bilaterally.
