Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzade - APA. Economic relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are perspective priorities of Azerbaijani and Georgian governments, said the Deputy Prime Minister, Economic Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili while commenting on decline of car export to Azerbaijan.
He said that application of Euro-4 standard in Azerbaijan caused decline of car sale: “The persons engaging in car sale needed a time to be able to conduct export meeting this standard. Now, positive progress is being observed”.
Kvirikashvili noted that the commodity turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia increased: “I think Azerbaijan and Georgia are very important partners. Azerbaijan is the number-one country investing direct capital in Georgia. We are jointly implementing projects such as Baku-Tbilisi-Kars. Georgian side has already completed all works practically and terminal is being constructed in Akhalkalaki. Railway line is ready for trains. The works in Turkish side are underway. Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project wil be completed by 2015, if no extremal situation happens”.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that SOCAR is implementing big projects in Georgia: “Moreover, SOCAR is gasifying Georgia’s regions. We thank SOCAR for this”.
