Baku - APA-Economics. Fitch Ratings has affirmed Kapital Bank’s (KB) Long-term Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) at 'B+'. The bank has table Outlooks, Reuters reported.
Fitch has also upgraded KB's Viability Rating (VR) to 'b' from 'b-'.
The upgrade of KB's VR reflects the bank's improved performance and stronger capitalisation.
Liquidity in the sector is adequate, underpinned by banks' reasonable deposit collection capacity.
KB's support-driven IDRs could be downgraded if the sovereign is downgraded. However, these scenarios are currently regarded as unlikely by Fitch.
KB's VR could be upgraded if the bank is able to maintain sound asset quality in its retail portfolio.
