Azerbaijan sees growth in monetary base

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of December 1, 2013, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 10,787.7 mln, up 15.4% or 1,441.7 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base increased by 0.5% or AZN 55.5 mln in November, 2013. In general, monetary base has increased by 2.6% or AZN 272.7 mln since early 2013.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
