Azerbaijan-based banks see 25% growth in assets

Baku. Musa Ahmadov – APA-Economics. As of August 1, 2014, Azerbaijan-based commercial banks’ assets stood at AZN 23.288 bln, up AZN 4,594.99 mln or 24.6% from year earlier.

According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the assets increased by AZN 718.71 mln or 3.2% in July, 2014.

Most of assets were loans given to clients (AZN 15,715,000 or 67.5% of total assets). Moreover, AZN 1,984.3 mln was investments, AZN 1,741.2 mln – correspondent accounts, AZN 1,110.3 mln – loans and deposits for financial sector, AZN 903.7 mln – cash funds and AZN 1,833.9 mln – other assets.

AZN 10,036.3 mln of liabilities were deposits, AZN 7,962.7 mln – loans and deposits from financial sector, AZN 1,584.5 mln – other liabilities and AZN 3,705.0 mln – capital.
