Azerbaijan-based banksâ€™ assets reach AZN 24 bln

Baku. Musa Ahmadov – APA-Economics. As of November 1, 2014, Azerbaijan-based commercial banks’ assets stood at AZN 23.936 bln, up AZN 4.332 mln or 22.1% from year earlier.

According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the assets increased by AZN 430.4 mln or 1.83% in October, 2014. Compared to the beginning of this year, the assets increased AZN 3.551 mln or 17.42%.

Most of assets were loans given to clients. So, such loans made AZN 16,483.9 mln or 68.9% of total assets. Moreover, AZN 2,124.5 mln was investments, AZN 1,461.9 mln – correspondent accounts, AZN 983.4 mln – loans and deposits for financial sector, AZN 943.9 mln – cash funds and AZN 1,938.6 mln – other assets.

AZN 10,411.8 mln of liabilities were deposits, AZN 8,093.9 mln – loans and deposits attracted from financial sector, AZN 1,537 mln – other liabilities and AZN 3,893.5 mln – capital.
