RSI index rises in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. Retail Sales Index (RSI) made 106.6% in September, 2013, up 8.3 percentage points compared to August.

RSI is calculated as a comparison between the sales value and previous month’s indexes. Total retail turnover made AZN 1,659.8 mln in September and AZN 1,556.8 mln in August.

As it seems, along with the growth, the index was above 100%, which shows that retail trade fell in monthly comparison.

Note that, in January-September, 2013, the volume of retail trade rose 9.6% to AZN 13.868 bln. Moreover, average monthly turnover of retail trade in January-September, 2013 made AZN 1.541bln, while it was AZN 1.463 bln in 2012. So, this index rose 5.3%.
