Bank deposits increase by 18% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of October 1, 2013 the deposits in Azerbaijan-based credit organizations made AZN 11,929.4 mln, up AZN 1,848.8 mln or 18.3% compared to a year earlier, AZN 1,230.2 mln or 11.5% to early 2013.

AZN 6,237.4 mln of deposits was household deposits (52.3%). The deposits soared AZN 1,681.1 mln or 36.9% year-on-year, AZN 1,124.0 mln or 22.0% compared to the beginning of 2013.

At the same time, juridical persons’ deposits stood at AZN 5,692.0 mln, up AZN 167.7 mln or 3.0% from a year ago, AZN 106.1 mln or 1.9% from early 2013.

In legal entities’ deposits, AZN 3,067.3 mln or 53.9% belonged financial organizations (up AZN 357.3 mln or 13.2%), AZN 2,627.7 mln or 46.1% - to non-financial organizations (down AZN 189.6 mln or 6.7%).
