Azerbaijan-based banks see 27% growth in assets

Baku – APA-Economics. As of May 1, 2014, Azerbaijan-based commercial banks’ assets stood at AZN 22,009,520,000, up AZN 4,697.74 mln or 27.1% from year earlier.

According to Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the assets increased by AZN 590.89 mln or 2.8% in April, 2014.

The loans given to clients made AZN 14,922.3 mln (67.8%). Moreover, AZN 1,942.2 mln was investments, AZN 1,535.6 mln – correspondent accounts, AZN 1,069.1 mln – loans and deposits for financial sector, AZN 817.2 mln – cash funds and AZN 1,723.1 mln – other assets.

AZN 9,547.4 mln of liabilities were deposits, AZN 7,319 mln – loans and deposits from financial sector, AZN 1,537.6 mln – other liabilities and AZN 3,605.4 mln – capital.
