The World In, first published 27 years ago, is The Economist’s annual forecast of the events and trends that will shape the year ahead. The main goal of The Economist’s annual edition is to forecast the global future. It is written by The Economist’s senior editors alongside luminaries from the worlds of politics, business, culture and technology such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel, UK Prime Minister David Cameron, and Head of UN Ban Ki-moon.
The Azerbaijan edition will include a special section on Azerbaijan involving influential politicians and leaders of business and academic institutions as authors of their own respected columns.
“Azerbaijan’s media space is facing a new reality. This is for the first time that such a world-renowned and influential publication as The Economist enters the Azerbaijan media market,” says George Sharashidze, Publisher and General Manager of GT Group, exclusive licensee of The Economist in Azerbaijan. According to him, “on the way to Azerbaijan’s rapid development such projects bare particular importance. Azerbaijan media and Azerbaijan in general becomes the part of the contemporary professional media space of the highest quality.”
On December 20th at 19:00 in Fairmont Baku GT Group, official licensee of The Economist in Azerbaijan, and Pasha Bank, General Sponsor of The World In 2014/Azerbaijan will host a reception to celebrate the upcoming Azerbaijan edition of The World In 2014 by The Economist.
