President Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity

The Head of State said the cooperation between the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Azerbaijan had been lasting successfully for long years.
â€œOur cooperation has splendid prospects. The bank-supported projects are being implemented successfully in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is developing. I think this cooperation will further develop,â€ he said.

According to President, though Azerbaijan is a young country, it is actively cooperating with a number of international organizations, including the Organization of Islamic Conference.
â€œWe continue successful cooperation with the members of the Organization of Islamic Conference in economic, political, cultural and humanitarian spheres. We are doing our best to contribute to the cooperation among the Muslim countries. We are grateful to President of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmad Mohamed Ali for right assessment of Nagorno Karabakh conflict. I am also grateful to all our Muslim brothers and sisters for their support concerning Nagorno Karabakh. As a result of the ethnic cleansing policy pursued by Armenia, one million Azerbaijanis have become refugees and internally displaced persons, the cultural monuments in the occupied territories have been destroyed. These lands have become dead zone. All international organizations recognize Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity, pass resolutions and decisions about it. The UN, OIC, CE decisions and resolutions support Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity. But Armenia does not want to give up its position. I do not doubt that Azerbaijan will restore its territorial integrity. This is number one problem for us,â€ he said.

President Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is a market-economy country and its policy is right: â€œWe want to develop non-oil sector, increase the share of private sector in economy. Azerbaijanâ€™s economy has increased 9 percent in crisis year. Azerbaijan is a favorable country for investment. There is economic and political stability in the country. One cannot speak about development without stability. Negative results occur when the stability is violated. We have big targets. We want to include Azerbaijan in a row with developed countries. We have already achieved some results. Azerbaijan is in the 1st place in CIS and in the 51st place in the world for economic sustainability. We have used our energy resources effectively. We demonstrate transparency in our financial system. The State Oil Fund is a very transparent organization. Energy resources of Azerbaijan will give a chance to strengthen our economy for years. Education, health, sport are priority for us. Railways opened on our initiative assume great importance. Baku-Tbilisi-Qars is our initiative. But we have bigger dutiesâ€.

The president also said that Azerbaijan had strengthened its position in the world: â€œOur relations with neighboring countries are at the high level. We will deepen our cooperation with international financial organizations. Especially, cooperation with IDB will always continue successfully. Eventually, the world will recognize Azerbaijan and know more realities about our country. Our strength is in our unity. We want peace in the world. We want all the aggressors withdraw from the occupied territories, justice to be restored. We must struggle together, and try to restore the justiceâ€.
