Annual meeting of IDBâ€™s Board of Governors starts in Baku

Azerbaijani Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev spoke about the economic indexes of Azerbaijan. According to him, 1800 schools were built in Azerbaijan during the last years. State budget rose by 7 times, populationâ€™s incomes by 6.7 times. 840 000 work places were launched in last five years.

IDBâ€™s president Ahmed Mohamed Ali spoke about urban development in Azerbaijan. According to him, the global economical crisis did not have impact on azerbaijanâ€™s economy.

He alos noted that, Islamic Development Bank will not deny its assistance to Azerbaijan. â€œWe know that, Azerbaijanâ€™s land was occupied. We want Azerbaijan land to be liberated and UNâ€™s resolutions were fulfilled.â€

According to him, IDB allocated $ 7.5 mln to the development.â€ We want to support the countries which the financial crisis influenced them. Azerbaijan has collaborated with us since 1992 and IDB allocated $ 528 mln to it.â€
