On May 23, Azerbaijani fighter Zelym Kotsoiev, who is the 5th in the world ranking in the weight class of 100 kg, won gold medal in the final of the World Championships held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, Apasport.az reports.
25-year-old athlete, who is an honorary graduate of the Azerbaijan judo school, defeated opponents from Korea, Israel, Spain and Portugal.
He won the title of World Champion by defeating Canadian Shady El Nahas in the gold medal bout.
