Russia is interested in provoking conflicts between Poland and Ukraine, but if Ukraine is not independent, Moscow will come after Poland next, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Warsaw, APA reports, citing European Pravda.
Zelenskyy noted that there have been “difficult moments” between the two societies, adding that it is the responsibility of presidents to shape policies that keep the two peoples united.
“If our state is not independent, Moscow will inevitably move here, toward Europe. Without our independence, Moscow will inevitably come after Poland. That is why our existence is important. Your existence is important. The existence of Ukraine and Poland is important, and it is important that we stand together,” Zelenskyy stressed.
He invited Nawrocki to visit Ukraine, emphasizing that such a visit would be “important for our societies.”
“Ukraine is defending itself and, by doing so, is also protecting Europe. The greatest price we are paying is the lives of our people,” the Ukrainian president added, thanking Poland for its support.
